A SERIOUSLY GOOD ORANGE SOUFFLE

Dave made orange souffle this morning for our five guests. The oooohs and ahhhhs and requests for seconds were enough to put a smile on our faces! Orange souffle is a deliciously sweet warm breakfast dish made with eggs, orange juice and sugar. It rises to a grand height and while it's still high, we serve it in a beautiful, very large pottery bowl made just for the Inn by a local artist. It serves 4-6 people, leaving enough for seconds, of course.

Dave experimented with a smaller, individual-sized version this morning as well. Dave is his own guinea pig, along with Brigette (sometimes, when she's feeling daring). The single serving souffle didn't create quite the pizazz of the large version...but we're pleased to say that other single serving versions of our larger breakfast dishes have turned out great during the experimentation phase and guests will be able to enjoy those successes soon.

MEET SAL

Joey the Cat lives in our private area of the house, and the outdoors is his playground. He made a new friend recently, Sal. He enjoyed chasing Sal, but Sal didn't seem to enjoy being chased by a large orange fluffy ball. Then Joey decided to bring Sal to our office for introductions.

As Brigette crouched on her desk chair with her feet pulled under her and her hands over her eyes, simultaneously yelling, "Save him! Save him!," and "Ewww!," Dave rescued Sal from Joey's overly affectionate embrace. Sal spent some time in an Ohio State mug [aside: it's never too early before football season to say...GO BUCKS!] and he was safely relocated back to his home near the creek.

WALK-UP PC IS UP AND RUNNING

When we bought the Inn on Mill Creek, one of our (well, Dave's) ideas was to have a "walk-up" PC for our guests. We already have wireless internet service throughout the Inn, but if you don't bring your laptop with you, the Wi-Fi doesn't really do you any good. Well...now you can check your e-mail, Google a nearby restaurant or attraction, or find out if your favorite baseball team won their latest game -- right in our Great Room.

[Check out the foggy day we were having today!]

Of course, Dave, being the tech-savvy guy that he is, has his entire music collection (6,000+ tunes) downloaded to MP3s, so you can also listen to some music while you're relaxing.

Of course, Brigette, being the tech-savvy gal that she is, has superimposed a page of our website onto the screen in the photo above since the monitor was a big flash of white when the photo was downloaded. :)
