Sunny November Day at Biltmore Estate

Early November in the mountains of Western North Carolina can be, in a word, temperamental. Different elevations can see different weather. For example, the higher elevations such as Mt. Mitchell (highest peak in the eastern United States) saw several inches of snow earlier this week! We had cool temps with some rain and even some snow flurries at our elevation the first part of the week, which was the earliest we remember it snowing since we arrived in 2007.

However, by Thursday, all that dreary weather was quickly forgotten, as the sun shone in the Carolina blue sky and the temperatures climbed into the upper 60s. A beautiful mid-fall day in the mountains…meaning it was time to get outside! And while Biltmore Estate is all dolled up for Christmas {yes, Christmas at Biltmore starts in early November!}, with spectacular decorations, music of the season, and tidings of comfort and joy, well, Mother Nature hasn’t quite transitioned Biltmore’s 8,000 acres away from fall yet. So, you lovers of crisp fall days, and all of you who are addicted to all things Christmas have the best of both worlds at Biltmore right now, making it a great place to spend the day.

Enjoy the following outdoor photos we took of our early November day at Biltmore, and don’t forget that as a guest of the Inn on Mill Creek, you can purchase discounted tickets ($49/person) right here at the Inn that can be used any day of the week, plus the following day for free. And daytime tickets can currently be upgraded for just $10 to add a Christmas Candlelight Evenings self-guided evening tour of Biltmore House.
